“Almost everyone who crosses the therapist’s threshold is looking for a second chance: a chance to live a richer, less restricted life. Second chances depend on the therapists’ ability to show the client that present life is coloured by the past. Understanding how the echoes of this past resonate and shape one’s life gives a person new choices and opportunities.”
