Kevin is a qualified Clinical Psychologist who has worked with children and their families for a number of years. He previously worked for the HSE on a dedicated Psychology Assessment Team providing Assessment of Need. He has experience carrying out a range of diagnostic clinical and psycho-educational assessments, such as Autism, Cognitive and Behavioural assessments.

“When you carry out an assessment with a child, you are developing a relationship with that child and their family. At all stages, the family should know what you are assessing and why. Since the assessment may result in you giving a lifelong diagnosis, you need to be empathic and honest. The process of diagnosing a child does not happen in one session and it is important that people feel included in the process. That includes the opportunity to go away and think of questions to ask.”
