Jean is a Chartered Educational Psychologist who has enjoyed working with School Aged Children and adults, for over 25 years. Initially with the Dyslexia Association of Ireland assessment service, she was also a guest speaker at local parent forums. She has worked with students in Schools, Youthreach and Higher Education, and Adults of all ages who search to understand educational challenges they have experienced.
Jean worked for many years within multi-disciplinary School Aged Disability Teams at Enable Ireland, supporting students and their families, with physical, cognitive and neurodevelopmental differences through school and life transitions. She also supervised Trainee Educational Psychologists on placement from UCD and was a member of Assessment Of Need (AON) assessment teams.
In continuing to learn over the years, Jean completed a Certificate in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy, Modules in ‘Understanding Neuro-developmental Profiles’ at UCL London and courses on the benefits of Assistive Technology in education. Ongoing training enhances her approach in empowering parents to advocate for their child’s needs, in partnership with schools. Jean is passionate in promoting inclusion for all with additional needs in school, further education and work environments.
Jean now provides an assessment service for School Aged Children and Adults who present with Specific and General Learning Difficulties, including Dyslexia and Dyscalculia. Where indicated, this may include additional screening to support referrals for further diagnostic assessment.
