She works with a wide range of psychological issues that impact on the psychological well-being of young people and their families. Ciara has extensive experience working with young people who experience neuro diversity and can shape her therapeutic interactions to accommodate to a neurodiverse style of interaction . In addition she uses her knowledge of child and adolescent development and to support a psychological formulation of the difficulties an young person is currently experiencing.
“ When I meet with you and your parents for the first time we will develop a shared understanding of the current problem (s) and collaborate together on how to bring about understanding to the situation. This will be our platform from which to work from. My therapeutic interactions are informed from the theoretical principals of CBT, DBT and ABFT.
I find that using ABFT provides a pathway to understanding where we are at when it comes to adolescent depression. It helps families and the young person to move past the depression together.”
